The History of Our Law Firm
The history of Baty, Holm, Numrich & Otto, PC dates to 1921. The firm was previously known as Field, Gentry & Benjamin, PC, where Lyman Field and Reed Gentry built the firm’s reputation for effective trial advocacy. Mr. Field, whose friends included President Harry S. Truman and artist Thomas Hart Benton, was widely regarded as the best trial attorney in the area. In fact, Thomas Hart Benton immortalized Mr. Field in his classic painting, “Trial by Jury” (1964), in which Mr. Field gives an impassioned argument to a jury. Mr. Field and Mr. Gentry passed away in the late 1990s, and the firm changed its name to Baty & Holm, PC to reflect a new era.
